When attempting to get a libertarian oriented person elected to office, elections are like showing up to a gun fight without even a knife. Voters are very well trained to chase after the politicians who curry their favor.
When it comes to fiscal responsibility, most politicians and voters are like kids left alone by their teacher in the classroom: let the party begin!! As you might recall, nobody liked it very much when the teacher returns.
